Make money writing articles
To show you how the world has changed, about a decade ago a novice freelance writer's prospects for earning money writing articles was very, very minimal. Sure, you could submit articles to any one of the hundreds of magazines on the market but the acceptance level for this type of spec work was maybe one in twenty. As such, even the most prolific writer would be doing a lot of work for little or no pay. Thanks to the internet, this has all changed and there is great opportunity for earning significant income as a freelance article writer.
For a commercial website to be successful it needs traffic and most traffic will be based on search engine placement and responses to direct links. If the website possesses little content or trite content of limited value then the ability to be noticed in the search engines becomes minimal. But, if the website contains a great deal of quality written articles then the ability for people to stumble cross the site is increased. For example, a website that deals with storm drains adds five articles on various subjects related to storm drains to the site. One article is "The Best Storm Drains." Now, someone types those same words into a search engine and this article shows up in the results. When the reader clicks on the link to the article they are taken to homepage. This is how potential customers are acquired. Of course, there are other methods that can be employed as well. The article could be submitted to an article directory and have links added to the site. Or, the article could be placed in an RSS feed. It could also be added to anyone of a number of blogs on the internet. Regardless of the method employed, the bottom line is that the website will need to hire a writer and this is where a freelancer can make a great deal of money!
If the writer can come up with unique, interesting, well written and informative articles then the writer will find him or herself in demand. It is also good news to point out that there is great demand because without the use of articles to boost traffic most online ventures will be at a major disadvantage.
So how does a writer get involved with this type of work? The easiest way would be to skim classified ads and message boards that solicit freelance "content" writers. Usually, these services will request to see a sample of your writing or ask you to write a short test article. When hired, they will provide you with a number of topics to work on. Of course, you can work for as many of these services as you are able to leaving the door wide open for a lot of work. Granted, the pay is low ($2 - $5 a page) but the volume is high. If you are looking for higher paying work then you should look into online auction sites where you can bid on freelance work. There are a number of these sites and you can bid a fee that is more lucrative but remember that you will be competing with others and will need more skill and experience in order to be successful.
But, regardless of the method you employ there is a tremendous opportunity for those looking to earn money writing articles provided they go after the opportunity!
