Do Make Money Affiliate Programs Work?
The simple answer to this questions is yes. Affiliate sites are incredibly popular, and many people use them as their main source of income, with some earning hundreds of thousands of pounds every year. There is a certain amount of skill involved, however, (unless you happen to get lucky) so you can't just expect to start earning thousands straight away.
Everyone who works with affiliate sites knows that it can take years before you get a “big break”, but the vital thing is to ensure you are earning some money at least, right from the start.
Affiliate sites ultimately depend on one thing, traffic. If you haven't got very many people going to your site, you're not going to make much money. Some of the worst sites in the world are making massive amounts of money, simply because they get huge numbers of people coming to them. The thing to remember is that quality will only take you so far.
For example, the low quality website that is getting lots of visitors could probably make twice as much if they simply improved their site. However, there's no point in improving the site until they've know that the site can be popular, so they make a pretty low quality version just to see if the idea makes money.
Not everyone does this, but some of the most successful affiliate sites have started as very plain, boring, websites. This doesn't mean that you should just throw together any old rubbish, but it means that you've got to actually take action, you can't just wait for things to happen.
If it's taking you too long to create incredible content and beautiful design for your website, you've already lost half the battle. You need to get your affiliate site out there, if you can get people to come to it, you can focus on making money out of those people.
Getting a site out there quickly saves a great deal of time, but it also means you can test a niche very easily. If you can't get any traffic with a particular topic, it doesn't matter how good the website is, you're never going to make as much money as you could.
Some of the best affiliate marketers will create a bunch of websites and then just get them out there. They will then see which ones are attracting attention and dump any that aren't. Maybe 1 in 10 of their websites becomes successful, but because they didn't take too long creating them, they haven't lost anything.
Affiliate sites work if you get traffic and the website is able to take that traffic and turn it into cash. Traffic comes first, not the money, so remember to market the hell out of your site to start with, so you can start getting the traffic rolling in. Traffic won't suddenly go away; once you've set up a steady flow of traffic you can start focusing on making money out of them, that's the key to success with affiliate websites.
